Island Build Contracting Ltd. was founded by Tilman Hilgemann, a construction professional with a unique combination of hands-on craftsmanship, engineering knowledge and international experience.
Born and raised in Germany, Tilman developed his passion for building at an early age while learning traditional carpentry skills from his father, a German-certified carpenter. This foundation created a strong appreciation for quality workmanship, precision and attention to detail.
After completing a Bachelor of Engineering degree, Tilman combined his technical knowledge with practical construction experience gained across five countries: Canada, Germany, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.
Working internationally allowed him to develop a broad understanding of different construction methods, materials and building practices in both residential and commercial construction.
Today, Tilman brings this diverse experience to every Island Build Contracting project. His focus is on delivering well-planned, high-quality construction while maintaining clear communication, efficient processes and strong relationships with every client.
